Competition terms and conditions
The Prizes: There are four regional prizes available each consisting of a €215 Specsavers eyecare voucher, bottle of champagne and award certificate. One regional winner will be picked from each of the Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster regions. The overall winner selected from the four regional winners will also win a €750 Specsavers hearcare voucher, the Irish Grandparent of the Year trophy and a family weekend break (2 nights bed and breakfast and dinner on 1 night) in Ireland for up to four people, staying at a four star hotel approved by Specsavers. The break must be booked with Specsavers at least one month before travel and is subject to availability. The prize does not include travel insurance, the cost of travel to and from the hotel, spending money, tax or personal expenses. Any other costs incurred in addition to those set out above and that are incidental to the fulfilment of the prize are the responsibility of the winner. The overall winner’s grandchild that nominated them will receive an iPad, 32GB, Wi-Fi only model. Entrants and nominees must be resident in Ireland. The competition is not open to employees of the Specsavers Group or Third Age or their families or members of their households or anyone professionally associated with the competition. Please obtain your parent’s/guardian’s consent to enter if under the age of 16. Specsavers does not accept any responsibility for late, lost or ineligible entries. Proof of posting is not proof of receipt. Only one entry per person. All entries must be received by midnight on 29 October 2017. Winners and/or their parent or guardian will be contacted by telephone on or after 3 November 2017. Specsavers reserves the right to reallocate a prize if the winner cannot be contacted after at least three attempts to do so. No purchase is required. Winners’ names can be obtained upon request in writing from WHPR, 6 Ely Place, Dublin 2 from 13 November 2017. Entrants must be willing to take part in all competition publicity and agree to have their nomination published. All competition entries and any accompanying material submitted to the Specsavers will become the property of Specsavers on receipt. By submitting your competition entry and any accompanying material, the entrant agrees to assign to Specsavers all its intellectual property rights with full title guarantee and in and to your competition entry. In consideration of providing the competition, each entrant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual licence to Specsavers to feature any or all of the submitted nomination and images taken of the winner and nominee in connection with the competition in any publications and/or in any promotional material connected to the competition including all online, social media and additional platforms owned or utilised by Specsavers. Entries will not be returned. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges whose decisions will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. The entry that the judges think is the strongest nomination will win. Prizes are non-transferable, cannot be exchanged and no cash alternative will be offered. Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these rules and agree to abide by them when entering this competition. Insofar as is permitted by law, Specsavers, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of Specsavers, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected. This competition is promoted by Specsavers Ireland Limited, La Villiaze, St Andrew’s, Guernsey, Channel Islands, GY6 8YP. These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Personal data obtained in the process of the competition will be used for the purposes of administering the competition and will be held by the Specsavers Group either manually or electronically. The information will be treated in the strictest confidence. All winners' names will be available on request and publicised by Specsavers.
