PRSI Treatment Benefit Scheme and Medical Card

PRSI or medical card

FREE EYE EXAMINATION WITH PRSI OR MEDICAL CARD

If you are entitled to Medical Card or PRSI Treatment Benefit you could be entitled to a free eyesight examination.  And if you are a Medical Card holder you could enjoy fantastic savings on your glasses at Specsavers.

Medical Card

If you are a Medical Card holder you could be entitled to a free eye examination every 2 years and free glasses. At Specsavers, you could pay nothing for your glasses from our €29 and €59 ranges.

You can choose from hundreds of frame styles, all fitted with standard PENTAX single vision lenses and a scratch resistant treatment.  Alternatively you can put your entitlement towards any other offer or lenses and just pay the difference.

To claim your Medical Card benefit you must first apply to your Health Board. Ask our staff for an application form, and we will gladly help with completion and post it to for you. Once you have received your authorisation from the Health Board, just call us for an appointment. Remember, you must bring in your form at the time of your appointment to claim your benefit.

PRSI Treatment Benefit

Due to changes in the 2010 Budget, the Treatment Benefit Scheme will now only apply to free eyesight examinations. If you qualify for the Treatment Benefit Scheme you could be entitled to a free eye examination every 2 years. There’s no need to wait weeks for your PRSI approval. At Specsavers, we can get your PRSI approval in days. All we need is your PPS No. Ask staff when you book an appointment, or ask Staff for a claim form. Your spouse may also be able to claim under your PRSI record too, so bring them along and see if they are eligible for a free eye examination too.
