More information

Now Iris has chosen her frames, her lenses will be made to her exact prescription.
Many prescription lenses are stocked at the in-store lab, but more specialist lenses like Iris’s are ordered in from our central manufacturing laboratory by the store’s lab technician.
When they arrive, the lab technician checks that the power of the lenses is correct, and that there are no imperfections. He then aligns the lenses accurately. Using the glazing machine, the lab technician cuts them into the precise shape to fit the frames that Iris has chosen. The technician carefully fits the lenses into the frames and makes sure they are secure.
The lab technician gives the finished glasses one more check to make sure everything is correct before giving them a thorough clean and putting them in a case, ready for Iris to collect them.
