I just came back from my yearly eye sight exam at Specsavers. Before my vision was -1.00 on left eye and -1.50 on right eye and I have been wearing Acuvue oasis 2 weekly contacts. But after the test the doctor told me I had -1.25 on my left eye- an increase of 0.25. The thing is that during the eye exam I felt very insecure when she asked me whether it looked better or not and at the end I was a bit scared that it might have been the wrong result. Now that I am wearing the contacts, I feel a bit dizzy. I don't know whether I am imagining this or not but I am worried I might still have the same eyesight but been given 0.25 stronger on left eye.
After the exam she said she double checked with me and I had said that 0.25 was better. But I am still unsure. What should I do in this case?
Written answer:
This is a very small change in the left eye, so don't worry, even if it is too strong it will not do you any harm. You need to have confidence in the prescription and the optometrist who examined you. I would telephone them and tell them that you feel the power in this eye is too strong and could someone please check it for you. They should be pleased to do so, and then you will be confident you have the correct prescription.
